Wyoming Senior Olympics is a group of seniors that want to stay active. We are an open state, which means any state can come participate with us to qualify for the Nationals.
We are dedicated to making our Games the best around. We offer many different programs in the attempt to fit everyone who wants to participate.
JOE DEDIC
President
Joe Dedic is the sitting President of the Wyoming Senior Olympics Board of Commissioners.
He began competing in 2016 with the Wyoming Summer Olympics. Dedic was instrumental in bringing the hammer throw to the Wyoming Summer Olympics in Laramie in 2017.
Dedic graduated from Indiana University in 1988, where he played football. He was team captain for the 1985 JUCO Football National Champions and Hall of Fame inductee for Snow Jr. College. Joe attended Kelly Walsh High School in Casper. He participated in football, wrestling and Track.
Dedic’s vision for the WSO is to expand competitions for Wyoming’s Senior Athletes statewide. Giving our Wyoming Seniors the opportunity to Be and Stay Active!
DOUG BRENDLE
Vice President
Doug grew up and raised a family in Wyoming and has been athlete since his early teens. He has been a contributing professional in the health and fitness industry since the early 80’s inventing and producing many patented and award-winning products. Brendle graduated from Cheyenne Central High School, went on to become a national judging official, district chairman and board member for the National Physique Committee and the National Chairman for the United States Powerlifting Federation and judging official.
Of all the sports and athletics, he has participated in or contributed to his favorite is the Wyoming Senior Olympics.
GAY WOODHOUSE
Treasurer
Gay is a Wyoming native and avid cyclist. Her first competition was in 2012 and she’s been addicted to the senior competitions since that time. She’s an attorney in Cheyenne with Woodhouse Roden Ames & Brennan law firm. She’s involved in a number of non-profit organizations. She’s been on the Wyoming Senior Olympics Board since 2014, and is the current treasurer. She was the first female Attorney General and was elected to serve as Laramie County Commissioner. She’s a wife, mother, grand-mother, avid reader, painter and enjoys volunteering.
RICH MCVEIGH
Secretary
After graduating from Cheyenne East High School in 1972, I decided to take a couple of years off to work before pursuing my education at the University of Wyoming, where I graduated in 1978. Throughout my life, I have been actively involved in various sports such as baseball, football, wrestling, volleyball, softball, basketball, bowling, and weightlifting. I have always had a passion for sports and thrive on the spirit of competition. In 2022, I had the honor of being selected to serve on the Board of Directors of WSO. Being part of this board is a source of pride for me, and I am truly inspired by the amazing work we are doing to shape the future.
