TODD SHOLEY
Chasing 1,000 medals and still pushing for more, Todd Sholey proves that progress never has an age limit.

A Lifetime of Service and Family
Todd Sholey has proudly served the Rock Springs community as an optometrist for over 34 years alongside his wife, Helen. The two met while attending school in California before returning to Wyoming to build both a life and a practice together. A University of Wyoming graduate, Todd now looks forward to one day passing the family practice on to his son, who is currently competing in collegiate cross country and track.
A Passion for Athletics
Athletics have always been a central part of Todd’s life. Growing up, he competed in football, basketball, track, and baseball, later continuing with fastpitch and co-ed slow pitch softball. His love for sports eventually evolved into coaching and supporting his son’s athletic journey, keeping him closely connected to competition and an active lifestyle.

A Goal That Keeps Him Moving
Todd’s Wyoming Senior Olympics journey began at age 50 after meeting an athlete striving to win 80 medals at age 80. Inspired, Todd set his own ambitious goal: to earn 1,000 medals in his lifetime. Now approaching one-fifth of that milestone, he continues to challenge himself across multiple events. After transitioning from running to power walking and throwing due to injuries, he discovered a passion for pickleball and embraces every opportunity to grow and improve.

Driven by Progress and Adventure
While medals are meaningful, Todd finds the greatest reward in personal progress—getting faster, stronger, and better with each competition. One of his proudest achievements was reaching the podium at the National Senior Games in demanding conditions. Outside of competition, Todd enjoys riding his Honda Goldwing, hiking, biking, and geocaching—always seeking new adventures and ways to stay active.
