PAUL ULRICH
Paul continues to make an impact, not only as a leader in the energy industry but as an athlete, mentor, and advocate for his beloved home state of Wyoming.

A Career Rooted in Wyoming’s Energy Industry
Born and raised in Wyoming, Paul has spent over 25 years in the energy industry, currently serving as Vice President at Jonah Energy LLC. He oversees government and regulatory affairs for Jonah Energy, which operates one of North America’s largest natural gas fields. His expertise and leadership have played a pivotal role in shaping Wyoming’s energy landscape, and his work on the Board of Directors for the Wyoming Energy Authority further exemplifies his commitment to the state's energy strategy, including efforts to move toward a net-zero energy mix.
In addition to his professional achievements, Paul is an advocate for Wyoming’s natural resources and serves on various boards, including The Nature Conservancy and the Sublette County Health Foundation. He’s also an active columnist, offering valuable insights into Wyoming’s culture and energy issues, contributing to the public conversation and reflecting his deep care for the state.
New Beginnings: A Competitive Athlete at the Senior Winter Games
While Paul has had a highly successful career in the professional world, 2024 saw him embark on a new challenge: the Wyoming Senior Winter Games. This marked his first foray into competitive athletics, and he made quite the splash. Competing in five swimming events, Paul not only participated but excelled.

A Passion for the Outdoors
Outside of his professional and athletic life, Paul remains deeply connected to Wyoming’s natural beauty. An avid fly fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast, Paul finds time to enjoy the great outdoors with his family. His love for nature extends to his family’s business, Ulrich’s Fossil Gallery, where they specialize in 50-million-year-old fossil fish from the Green River Formation near Kemmerer.
