SHAREEN BRENDLE

Shareen Brendle – Age 57 | Cycling

For Shareen Brendle, passion has always been at the center of everything she does. Whether creating award-winning floral designs or racing across the finish line on two wheels.

Roots in Creativity & Community

Shareen’s story begins in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where her mother, Jane, founded Bouquets Unlimited more than four decades ago. For 32 years, Shareen worked side by side with her mother, helping build not just a business, but a legacy rooted in creativity, dedication, and community.

In 2019, Shareen took the reins, purchasing the business and continuing its success on her own. As a Master Floral Designer, she has earned top honors, including first place in a national design competition, along with numerous awards across Wyoming and Colorado. What began as a family business has grown into a true personal passion. It is one that reflects her artistic spirit and commitment to excellence.

Finding Strength through Cycling

While her career flourished, another passion was quietly shaping her life; cycling. Shareen had long been an athlete, competing as a Category 4 racer in time trials, road races, criteriums, and cyclocross.

But her journey has not been without challenges. In 1997, a serious posterior tibial tendon injury led to surgery, forcing her to rebuild her strength and redefine her limits. Rather than stepping away from the sport, Shareen leaned into it, finding resilience and purpose through cycling.

Her connection to the Wyoming Senior Olympics began even before she was eligible to compete. As a volunteer, she was inspired by the camaraderie, determination, and energy of the athlete, especially within the cycling events. She knew one day she wanted to be part of it.

Racing, Resilience & Results

That day came and Shareen hasn’t looked back. Now a six-year Wyoming Senior Olympics athlete, she has competed at both the state and national levels, including events in Pittsburgh and Des Moines.

Even when faced with another ankle injury before Nationals, Shareen refused to slow down. With only two months to train, she pushed forward and still returned home with medals and ribbons in every event she entered.

She credits part of her success to G-Nat (Global Neuromuscular Activation) and its powerful mindset: “Life is fast, be faster!”

For Shareen, winning brings excitement, but the true reward lies in something deeper. It’s the shared experience, the energy of competition, and the joy of seeing others push themselves and succeed that fuels her drive.

Looking Ahead

Today, Shareen continues to balance her life between artistry and athletics—designing beautiful floral creations while training and competing in the sport she loves.

As she looks ahead to another Wyoming Senior Olympics, her enthusiasm remains as strong as ever. For Shareen, the journey is about more than medals—it’s about passion, perseverance, and the connections made along the way.
